Thermostats

If your old thermostat contains mercury, you can take it to the Butte County Household Hazardous Waste Facility. You can check for mercury by removing the thermostat’s cover – if you see a bulb or vial that contains a silver, metallic liquid, it has mercury. Smart and digital thermostats are e-waste and can be taken to the Neal Road Recycling & Waste Facility (fees apply, check for rates):

You can check with Thermostat Care for more info and details.
